Hi everyone, this is my first post on this forum, and I must say: I'm happy the number of MSX sites on the net is growing!
Anyway, I've looked everywhere for the Title and BGM midi files for Konami's King's Valley 1, but couldn't find it. If anyone knows where I can find them, PLEASE let me know!
Thanks again for the great site!

afaik there's no midi file available.
I've made the song in moonblaster stereo (or SCC blaffer, I can't even remember it )once, which I can send to you if you're interested. |

Chaos, if it's an MBM, you could convert it into MID maybe.....Just in case our swedish SAAB rider is unable to play MBM-files or something.....
Use Meridian? It automatically converts instruments iirc...

btw, in general, who thinks that midifiles of msx games suck, compared to the original?
(And it doesn't matter whether you play it using a cheap 1mb GM-rom in an ALDI computer soundcard, or on a hi-end studio-synth!)

Thanks for the responce you guys! The reason I'm looking for the midi file, and not any other format, is cause I'm using these MSX tunes to create Polyphonic ring tones! They sound so great, and King's Valley would rock! A friend of mine once made the KV intro into a ring tone, but I'm looking for both the intro and the game's BGM. So Chaos and Shaiwa, if you can send the midi file to me (or any other format which can be converted to midi) it would be great help!
Thanks!

I have King's Valley 1 music (intro + game). I also have other MSX tunes converted to ringtones (Nokia 7210). Metal Gear - Red Alert really rocks!! |

My Sony Ericsson T100 has a MSX logo that scrolls up when you turn it on, while playing the intro tune of Metal Gear. My current main ringtone is a piece of from Usas (Juba Ruins). Other ringtones I arranged myself are from SD-Snatcher (ending), Vampire Killer, Ys 2 and Konami Soccer.

Great! Seems our phones like MSX too
As wallpaper I have a big snatcher head (the one in SCC+ label) and I also ported Sonyc to J2ME, so I can play it on my phone.
It could be nice to exchange some "MSX related stuff" for our phones. I have several ringtones (monophonic and polyphonic) from Vampire Killer, Maze of Galious, Nemesis, Metal Gear, Penguin Adventure, Pippols, etc. Also I have some wallpaper/start-up logos. |

Depends on HOW it is done. Most MIDI conversions are very bad, but some professional ones actually sound great. Most home made conversions miss some notes, play parts differently than the original or are completely ruined because of a bad selection of instruments. |

I'd really like to get the ring tones you have! Can you send me the kings valley ringtone? I don't know what you use for creating polyphonic ring tones, but I've used Nokia's PC Suite sound converter to make ring tones from midi files. I can give you a good collection of many MSX/arcade/Sega etc midi files if you want!
On my T68i (monophonic) I have a rotating Decepticons Logo for my screen saver!
I'd like to get the MSX startup screen gif too! |
