As you can read in this newspost the MSX Revival team has asked the help of foreigners once again. After asking if people knew a good name for their official emulator this is the very first time they have asked for a favor and this one is a lot bigger.
What do you think about this request? Is it also a sign that the MSX Revival team is more interested in the MSX Community outside of Japan? Isn't it a good thing that they are going to give the 'overseas-community' some big time attention in Japan?
In an overview of European and Brazilian (well, all non-Japanese) software released officially and by amateurs.. which products could not be missed? |

As ocurred with MSX games on the past, european and north&southamerican mentality is quite different than the japanese ideas... I think this is very attracting for japanese MSXers (things radically differents to their own creations)

Well, that is a decision that Sunrise Foundation have to take in cooperation with UMAX.
Everything around the revival is still vague.
Does Europe and Brazil can buy it in a proper way and not a few people that have knowledge ?
Becomes the USB-rom cartridge reader available.?
Are there updates coming and what will be the support further in the future
If these questions can be answered by MSX Association and NOT BY ASCII then it might be a sign and not earlier

Not as long as Microsoft gets in the way. Currently the MSX Association is not allowed to distribute products containing the MSX BIOS outside of Japan

Since there is a prototype already, I assume it will be

Updates on the MSXPLAYer? I head, but I am not sure, that indeed the MSXPLAYer has been improved and ported to more systems. |

Means that in my opinion we had to persuade Msx Associations to negotiate with Microsoft about the European rights. Ofcourse the customer had to pay a price for it.
But if one doesnot know what it might cost and what you can expect e.g. I want to buy it again, so I get thus the same player with some new software. Probably also something of us. Perhaps usefull to make a poll
Are you prepared to pay xxx for the msx-player including USB-ROM READER
if comes to Europe.
It seems to me that this a better way to finance the project.
I know a little bit more about the USB-rom reader but I cannot share that info at this moment.
So, the conclusion to the topic is that is still no sign.
However the production of a all in one chip is much better and should be seperated from the selling of a player. In other words the sell of this player cannot be the only way to finance the all in one chip
