Hi all, let me introduce myself:

My name is Jan-Lieuwe and I'm surfin' to msx.org regularly, but I never took the time to post to this forum before. I've been using MSX since 15 years (orso), doing all sorts of things for a former MSX group called "Emphasys" (mainly coding and music, but also some graphics). I still have an MSX-2+ @ home, which I use for gaming, listening to music and writing simple tools or test-programs for work. I use NLMSX for this purpose when my real MSX is not within reach.

Nowadays I work as a games programmer for Engine Software (I'm sure the name MSX-Engine rings a bell... that's what they were called in the ol' days when they were still active on the wonderful MSX platform).

Hobbies are: coding, composing, games & asia(n girls). If there's anything else you wanna know about me, just ask!

It seems we need to add yet another section to the MRC forum that has absolutely nothing to do with MSX?

Wow! People still seem to recognize me

About the Asian girls: I've been brainwashed by all kinds of japanese mags... Started to 'hate' Western girls (except for my own mum) and instead just chased after the Asian ones. It shows on my ICQ list, ya know But no kidding: I hope to get married before the end of this year to a Malaysian girl (that is South East Asia, near to Indonesia and the Philipines). It's hard to find japanese girls who speak some decent english, I found out

Now that I have the opportunity, let me add some stuff I forgot to mention @ the beginning of this thread:

- I'm 27 (born 17/08/1975)
- Have a couple of Roland synths @ home which I love to play
- A huge SEGA fan
- An RPG fan
- Develops games for GameBoy Advance, mainly (but other platforms too)

On MSX, my favourite games include:

SD-Snatcher
DragonSlayer 6
Hydlide 3
YS 2
(but there're so many cool games on MSX... making charts is pretty pointless)

IMO that part of this thread is going to a whole different direction than those disks with the MSX2+ 'demos'

You does maybe Latok, but I'm back on-line for 2 years, but almost know nobody! Except a few ones, which I've met on fairs Bussum '02 and Tilburg '03...
Like BiFiMSX, FiXato, and Ex-Cite.

I also hope to come to Bussum ( if my parents allow me to go), and to stay at the marathon, till know I promise if I come, I'll stay at the marathon!

Maybe I met this guy also there, and Latok, where were ya in Tilburg? Havn't seen ya at THE stand!

Back on Topic guys!

Sounds like you missed out on a lot of stuff, Koetje. Genic, Impact, FAC, Fuzzy Logic... Ah, the good ol' days. How did you get involved with MSX [at such late time]. Anyway, for people like you some additional info:

I used to be a very active MSX user from 1987 till 1996. The Emphasys crew (founded around 1990 and closely related to Overflow! & R.A.T.) was responsible for a diskmag called "Golden Power Disc" (or GPD, 12 issues). The diskmag routines were later adopted by "Disk" (another diskmag, from Friesland).
We also made some games (Ducktales & 3-Square) and some music disks (SyntheSector 1 & 2, Coverflow!).

I also contributed to some other projects (music & gfx mostly) for Sunrise Picture Disks, Psychoball, some music disks and promos. You can also find my typical custom sound in MBFM (the FM moonblaster for OPL4) -> MOA Piano
Nowadays I use synths + Cakewalk or Reason to compose, although I have to admit that I don't compose very often anymore; I prefer to play in realtime (and improve those skills).

Psycho Ball... just realise that's TEN (10) years ago. <grandpa> it was fun, wasn't it Lieuwe? </grandpa>. So many memories, so many weird memories in fact. I remember being attacked by the Impact crew, they threw pieces of smoked sausage at me.

Thom! Dude!

Hmm.. Was it ten years ago? I think you're pretty damn right (1993 it was). Time flies... Time sure flies. So have you spoken to (R)einier and (A)bie recently, (T)hom?

Anyway, nice to see you here!
