i was looking for a copy of final fantasy for the msx and stumbled onto this site. i've been looking hard for hours now and still cant find it. would anyone be able to point me towards it, translated or not? i read about it on another site but it gave no links.

it's somewhere on the net (maybe also om my harddisk) but i never saw this
game running. Someone ever has ???
Also, i dont know if it is the ff version like the nintendo one.

Yes, I've played that game a long time ago. It's a good RPG although fighting is a bit slow (it'll load stuff from disk whenever you encounter bad guys). Also the gfx are pretty lame for an MSX 2 title. I had fun playing it though (and you can find maps of the game in old MSX Magazines from ASCII... Also some great tips/walkthroughs on the Golden Power Discs).
It was ported to MSX by MicroCabin.

Well i've found it for ya, wasn't that difficult.

You have to hold CTRL while booting you msx (emu?).
Read the info link above for more info how to play the game.
didn't find a translated version (if there is one).

Actually the graphics are better than the NES version, from which it was ported I guess... Also the MSX-MUSIC (FM-PAC) music is far superior to the NES sounds.
I agree both music and graphics aren't spectacular for MSX2 though  |

I had the ORIGINAL final fantasy 1 for MSX on 1 disk, unfortunately it seems i lost it  but anyway, i think i have it as copy also.
I have played loads of times, and it does look better then the NES version too, and the music rocks!!
Maybe thats because this version is from MicroCabin? (as far as i can remember)
