Well, the author of Meridian has become a daddy for the second time, so I guess we'll have to wait a little bit longer before the next update will appear |

Say, how long does it usually take until a fresh dad gets a grip on his hobby again? |

Well, both Bart and Flyguille went straight from the hospital to their MSX computers, if you ask me. Which is a good thing |

Now where is that topic about Meridian?! Aaaaah, here it is!
Yesterday evening, I decided to boot up Meridian again for the first time in a pretty long time....I played a bit with the event editor, tried some songs and also had a look at some previous Meridian versions....
Michiel (How you're doing by the way? ), can you answer some questions? - In many Midi-files, different notes have different velocity. Is velocitiy the same as the VOL command!? The VOL command needs his own entry, right? I mean.....'C4 vol 90' doesn't work. Just 'vol 90' does. How do you change the velocity/volume of a single note, then? On one command line entry? It obviously is possible, but I can't get it right. Does the velocity/volume change per midi channel? I guess so?
- When selecting MIDI channels, would it be possible to actually HEAR the selected program while hitting my keyboard or a certain key on the keyboard? It would be a welcome feature for me
- In previous Meridian versions, in the event editor, it was possible to select a quick menu with a mouse double click and that way, you could easily insert events such as note off, note on, velocity, modulation etc. etc. Something DOES happen when I doubleclick in the newest version of Meridian, but nothing more than some menu which seems not to function
- I know, I've said it too many times, but while playing, it would be great to see the current program on the left and not just the start program
I really want to give it a try this time and create something in Meridian, I'm waiting your remarks. Thanks!! |

You really should kick Michiel for a new release, and since you know him better than I do... |
