Well i finally finished the program. You can select the game from a list, see 2 screenshots of the game and press the run button to play it.
It's 10.7 mb but thats because it also includes 135 msx games.
Due to the msx.org policy i cannot show the link but if you would like to use it, please mail me (martijnvantienen@hotmail.com) and i will send you the link.

If you create a package without any system roms and game roms, you can put that link here. Maybe we can even put it in the d/l section, but I need to discuss that first  |

Well i can leave the roms out of the program. The user can copy his own roms into the games directory of the program. And the user can modify the included text file so that the program will work with other roms then the original program had.
The user can also rename his own roms and let them work with the program (and see 2 pictures of that game if the rom was included in the original program)
But pictures of roms that were not included can also be included in the program. All it takes is a modification of 1 text file
But without the emulator files it would be a bit hard to use. Because the program works with 2 versions of fmsx

Both fMSX-DOS and fMSX-SDL can be downloaded elsewhere. You preparing the configuration files to run the games without having the user do that themselves is always good. one just needs to add the emulator files him-/herself.

In other words: release it without ROMS and without the Emu's. Then you've got yourself a nice legal piece of software which can make alot of people happy I think.

Just like I did with fMSX-Menu quite some time ago already. Even though the name looks like it's only suitable for fMSX it in fact isn't. It's just a dos-based very configurable menu-style launcher for many emulators. Sorry for the small 'ad': fMSX Menu page. BTW, I'm thinking of doing something similar like mvt did, setting it up for quite some games already. |
