I am wondering how to save in a game that saves to cassettes. Because I am currently playing Metal Gear and it saves to cassettes, but I have no idea where to find cassette files, create them, or anything else to that affect. I have searched the internet and this site for information on them, but keep coming up empty so would somebody please give me a lengthy explanation of saving cassette files.

I don't know what RTFM means. I don't use message boards that often or speak on AOL.

fMSX/Unix supports a command line parameter specifying the name of the tape file to be used. I don't know if the CE port of fMSX supports tapes.
About creating tape files, it's fairly easy. Just create an empty file, it can be used as a tape file. The size will get bigger when something gets saved to the tape.
