As I said earlier, I ordered a Sony HB-F1 MSX2. I got it today in the mail, and there's no power cord. If you don't know, the slot for the cord is a triangle pattern male pin thingee. Figures those coconut heads at Radioshack wouldn't know. Another thing, I noticed that there's a battery slot on the underside. What's that for? Please respond, and go soft on me!

The battery is for the date/time Like the littium battery of the "modern" PC.

The power cord... uhm... i used the power cord of my radio when my rabit had fun with the original XD... perhaps works for you. In your model is very common cable.

Does the slot look like this?

If so, this is a quite standard European power connection. Getting a cable and adapter shouldn't be too hard.

Second, the battery... it's used to save data in the clockchip (time, date, screen settings, ...)

If this picture works, you'll see exactly where the plug goes into.

What a strange connector... I suppose the pins are 'phase', 'null' and 'ground'. But which is which ^^;

well, let radioshack open it up for you so they can decide which lead is which.
The 'ground' should be ez to be recognizable if at all! (msx don't come with ground-earthed connectors)
The other two (or the ONLY two) should be your main leads, don't matter how you plug them. Just remember in EUROPE we use 220 volts. So maybe an adapter should be used.

btw. the picture didn't show

Is it a Japanese Computer ?
Shouldn't you care about 110V/220V ??

I have a Panasonic FS-A1 MSX2 computer, it has the identical power connector.

You're really going to need a power adaptor to run that computer !
You can not just connect it to the power grid !!!!!
It will self-destruct to say the least if you'd connect it straight to the power grid

So you will definitely need a power supply to run that HB-F1 computer.
