| Reactivating this old thread - Does anyone know who two pass through the third entrance in the last level. I got stuck and need this to complete usas map
|
There's a pitfall right above the entrance to the level 3 boss. You have to fall through that in order to reach the door in sad state, which is necessary to open the door. |

Tks a lot. I had already discovered this false floor, but I was talking about passing through the double puzzle (the first with 3 stones and the second with 4 stones). But I managed to and USAS map is finally complete. Now, I am finishing the japanese version in order to see the japanese ending mentioned on this thread.

4 new maps on MSX Solutions !
MSX Solutions is a very interesting website for the gamers, as it contains a
still growing number of maps that allow to find his way in the MSX games
world.
4 new maps have been added, they concern the following games :
- The Treasure Of Usas (Konami, 1987)
- H.E.R.O. (Activision, 1984)
- After The War - Part 1 (Dinamic, 1989)
- Tensai Rabbian Daifunsen (Toshiba Emi, 1986)
The creators of this site are also preparing a MSX Software Manual database,
for which each MSX fan can contribute.

yeah, why not tell us how you make them maps. I noticed on every screendump there's no PLAYER. what? you erase them or sumpf? cuz I CAN see the other sprites. nifty work btw. I love your maps.
how much time do you spend on such things? tell us dude,

It is manual work! After making those maps, I erase the player from the screens. Sometimes, it is not so well done, but other times it is quite good. I think the only one I have not erased the player is the map from Joe Blade. I was kinda lazzy
I don't know how much time I spend on these maps since I start several maps on the same time, and when I get stuck, I stop doing the map and try another one. For example, there are some maps that I started and I have not concluded yet, namely:
- Wizard's Lair -> Stuck on the last stage. Can't collect all pieces of the lion to finish the game.
- Casanova -> Stuck in the end of Level 2, it lacks one screen to go to the third and last level.
- Wonderboy -> Stuck on round 2, I cannot pass through a big piece of the sea. Do not know if I need some special ability.
- Castle Excellent -> Stuck after playing around half of the game. Then, I lost the savestate and I will have to start it all over again.
- Eggerland Mystery -> Same as above. Lost savestate but this one has passwords to acess a later level.
- Batman The Movie -> Started yesterday and maybe is the next one to be finished.
- Pitfall -> Started and stopped because of a problem of levelling the screens when the player jumps in the water.
And that's it.
But the harder to do are the shooter ones, when you have the screen scrolling, such as the Nemesis series.

Must be like slave-labour or monk-labour.. I could create a map from savestates, screendumping and glue them together in photosoup, but to wipe out the player each screen, each time .. yuck..
you've my vote!

Instead of 'erasing' the player I usually take 2 shots of each screen. I find it faster than going looking for the same tiles/patterns and copypasting. Try it some time, it works like a charm for me...

Did you know you can run faster if you keep certain key pressed?? (GRAPH, I think). Use it to jump longer. |
