Maybe they would be interested in distributing it the other way around. Your game with their RS232C interface
But, the joynet solution is cool as well
|
Problem wih network games (applies to other platforms as well), you'll need 2 RS232C, 1 cable, 2 MSX, 2 monitors, and above everything, 2 MSX freaks (at least).
Your game better be REALLY good to be worth the trouble |

That would be an option.
I could code it both ways, joynet and rs232c.
And of course I would probably make the game free
Only distributed games (disk+box+joynet) would cost the disk, cable and box
I'm dreaming
Of course I'm very interested in making this kind of game.
But first things first. Now I'm still working at my OpenGL 3D game
When that one is finished (I hope january 2004), then I could start...

There are no turn-based strategy games like Heroes of Might and Magic for the MSX system yet. I suppose it's very well possible to create such a game on MSX. The only difficulty is - again - the AI.

If you do multiplayer, then you don't need much AI
A single player mode would of course need an AI.

Z80 as the power for the AI, it's just that I think most programmers are inexperienced in writing an AI.. I know at least I am ^^;
And about sports game, I for one don't like them. I think the sports game fan prefers a PS2 anyway.

Haha, I own all of the next gen consoles, except the ps2. Although it's tempting to buy one now EyeToy is here... |

The best MSX games (or, at least, most of the best games) were published in cartridge format. Why aren't we supporting this particular MSX format? Now it is very easy to upload them to any FlashROM cartridge (ESE, Padial, Pazos, Ademir, etc.). And also, it is easier to spread the new games widely, because of emulators for different platforms.
It would be better to fix to one standard: let's say SCC+ROM Mapper up to 512 KB and MSX1 or MSX2. But hey, everyone has to choose.
My election is clear: bare MSX1 with 16 KB of RAM and nothing more. I code ROMs up to 32 KB. And I think that they can be as good as any other game. Definetly, I won't program a huge RPG, but lots of excellent games were done with this specifications.
Kind regards,
Edu R.

I'm sorry, I don't agree.
If not, then at least it is an even share 50-50.
Many many disk games are much better than cartridge games
Okay, there are many konami games that are really good, but next to those ??? |
