Hey everyone!

I saw that my website was added to the links on this site, which is great! The MSX was a machine I really liked in the 80s, although I had to go to a friend's house to use his.

However, how do you make your ratings? Is it your personal opinion are do use some kind of benchmarks?

As for the ratings, each reviewer gives their personal ratings for each category to me, and I take an average of all reviewers' ratings for the final total. It works quite well, although I've been disappointed a couple of times when a game I particularly like has been marked much lower because the other reviewers didn't like it as much! Still, I have to be fair and balanced, right?

In such a system the best thing is to scratch out the lowest and highest scores and average the remaining ones.
ALthough in the scenario you describe that might have an adverse effect ^^;

I see what you mean, however, as there are only two or three reviewers per game, it probably wouldn't work that well!

The way I see it is, it's unfortunate for the game if two really love it and one doesn't, dragging the score down, but on the other hand, the reviewers' comments and individual overall ratings at the bottom of each comment are very helpful in describing a game's worth.

Heh! I suppose that looks like I am showing my allegiance to one particular system, but it's the only video game shirt I've got!

Most of us, me included, love ALL of the systems that we review, except for Sharopolis. I think he was abducted by aliens at one point, and they used Commodore 64s to 'probe' him, hence his intense hatred of the system!

Just a quick note....I quickly added a forum to the site (yeah I know, who the hell needs ANOTHER forum to visit? ). Anyway, there is a section in it to post any requests for games you'd like to see reviewed. This will be helpful for us, and it's nice for people to get to see their favourite games scrutinised. So if you've got any burning wishes to see a game reviewed, or just love forums ( ), then pop over!
