I just said that would be nice to have the country under the name because I would know where a person is when I am talking to him or reading his post... I know I could click at the link to his personal info page, but if I am seeing an old post with lots of replays (like many pages) noone will be looking at all info-pages... Of course that I will know where the most participants are from by heart, but those who write sporadically I will not.

I am just explaining why I think that would be cool to have this information under the name, but I understand it is not something absolutely necessary, so I am ok if you guys think that it is unnecessary... I can really leave with it... snift snift... heheh

What are you up to, wolfie?

One of the first things I did with this forum was instantly remove the private messaging system. Why?

- We can not see what people are messaging. People could be flaming each other with us not even really noticing it

- Only 2 persons benefit from a private message. The sender and the receiver. The internet has a really nice alternative for that one. It's called e-mail.

- Datatraffic

ok, I didn't actually mean to use the forum as emailservice, ofcourse clicking some name would auto start the default email app (like eudora) ..

If someone flames/spams, than the MRC would be the perfect place to reveal that, don't you think? And hey, all those new demos need anti-greetinx too ..

You can find everyone who wants to share his email adress in the Contacts list, though. To avoid spam (and/or angry members) that's as far as it go. The names in the forum will - in the future - link to the same info page you get when you look someone up in the contacts list.

new idea:

Add a special panel at the frontpage with a list of 'creative' productions. Currently music etc. shows up, and disappears from the frontpage if some new news is posted.
There are several advantages:

- things like music are usually one-news-item-per-tune, by placing all these things in a special panel, you prevent flooding the frontpage when, like, 3 persons release a tune on a day.

- real news, such as fairs etc. is old news in a while, while remakes are timeless. This way, real (time-limited) news won't bash the creative contributions off the frontpage.

I wasn't thinking of that bar at the right (with forum, recent, reports etc.), as it is right now, but something special/new, like a screen-wide panel on top, like 100 pixels high or something, for this new panel and the rest of the news beneath that panel (with its own history and fifo system).

This new panel would be meant for anything user-created-related, so it includes gfx, music, code etc.

and how about photo upload on contact section? (should be funny and it will create a new forum topic for sure..)
