Is there any program that work with scalable font on MSX (text editor for example)?

DP fonts are not scalable, but pixel-based.

Well, just to fancy with MSX. Wouldn't that be great to have scalable fonts on msx? |

for what purpose ?
The MSX isn't famous for its fast VDP, so scalable fonts (in context of a wordprocessor) wouldn't do anything to speed things up ..

Scaling is not a problem when you pre calcualte it and store the fonts in the needed size, but indeed for what use? word for msx?

Why not,
Music, demo, BASIC programs are all mostly have no purposes. Just for the sake of amusement, isn't it?
Scalable fonts will be nifty thing to see on MSX especially in screen 7.

that's completely nuts
it's not about how relevant things are, but how they can be coded. if something looks good on an msx, it's usually a trick (a quote from Savage/Fuzzy logic, mid 90's). That would be the same as saying: hey, that woei demo has a checker background, guess that means that an msx2 can do multilayers, smooth. (hope I didn't spoil the fun for those who thought it was a multilayer ).
A game, a demo, can be full of tricks.. a serious tool, like a wordprocessor is no trick, it's just plain clear.. you input words, the application manages those words. If you can't show words with a runtime scaled font, then there's no trick you can use.. it just doesn't work. |

I wonder how FudeBrowZer copes with font-sizes! Perhaps Ricardo already invented scalable fonts?

No, there is no scalable MSX fonts. Dynamic Publisher has variable font heigh & width, but that is different thing.
I don't see any reason to make scalable MSX fonts, but maybe True Type Font renderer could be nice for MSX as well...

Your prediction comes true, NYYRIKKI! A TrueType renderer is under development!

Ah, this was the thread I was looking for when I posted about that true type renderer in a new thread |

Current version of fudebrowser is pixel-based, but true type fonts are in development,
and almost finished (just a few bugs to kill before official release). |
