When drawing within doozle or Graphsaurus, you're stucked with the interface that let's you only scroll to nearby colors and luminance (or pick another basic color), so you would never dare to try things.

Ok, so that was a misunderstanding.
BTW, Doozle is only meant for retouching pictures, not for drawing them.

Let's say you want to draw a penguin for screen 10 (YJK) . You're not sure which colors would look best and you want to avoid the color spill as much as possible.

I'd draw in 24 bit true color and use/write a good converter
I never said anything about having to use MSX programs to create graphics, I'm just saying I don't think vector graphics are well suited for the MSX graphic environment.

You've tried to convince me with game tiles now, which really just take a few minutes to pixel anyway. I think using vector graphics for larger pictures (demo graphics, still pictures, title screens) may be a good idea.

So you'd have a library of vector graphics, like a house, a castle, a tree, a sun, a flock of birds... That might work, but again, if people start using it, everything will look the same or at least similar.

I admit that things might look similar, but if you get to know how you can adjust the vectors and change things, that might lead to some more creativity. That's better than nothing and also better than a static pile of graphics that can not be changed, or at least not with the same ease.

But, my aim was/is to help current gfx people developing gfx more rapidly. Plus, once you drawn one block, you can change the parameters of it to generate more blocks that all look different. Believe it or not, but that really can speed up drawing.

This discussion nows goes into the direction of using or not using the same vector gfx for different MSX games, but again that was not my aim. That developer meeting was about sharing knowledge to speed up developing. That's what I wanted to do with psp and vectors. And my statement that things goes faster that way still stand.

BTW: Drawing in screen 10 is better if you want to use the YJK mode for non-tile/block drawing. Because if you make the edges of your drawings and the fill colors near the edges with YJK colors that look the same or almost the same as your 16 palette colors, you can use the 16 palette colors to remove the color bleeding inside and outside the edges.

back to the original subject: If Sander was to give a demonstration on crossdevelopment using VectorGFX on the North Netherlands MSX Developer meeting. Would you come over and have a look at it?

Guyver: I edited your and my own posts and removed all the testeron stuff. I hope you agree, and I give you my hand. Please note that I respect you as an MSX user and person.

ok, back to the topic of this topic

You can choose from these dates:

6 december
13 december
20 december

(all saturdays)

We don't care which, as long as you all agree on 1 date.

It's in a cafe, basicly the roomrent is 50euro for a whole day, however, if everyone takes at least 4 consumptions at the bar, then the room is for free.. I'd say that this last option is a nice one, esp. since you need drinks anyway ... In the same cafe, they sell snacks, so basicly you don't need to leave the building to go out for f00d.

There's sufficient parking, and even when you really want a supermarket, then there's one at walking distance... the cafe itself is very easy to find, and if ppl are coming by train, I can taxi between the station and the cafe. However, driving along with someone is always better.. (esp. when carrying stuff)

Tomorrow (tuesday-evening, 25nov.) I want to know which date I must reserve.. (the cafe needs to know), so, .. uhm.. have fun thinking about it
