9 would be good enough, I'd buy 3 then, I can always sell the extra later then

Okay, my contact asked me to be patient, he will ask the price at the shop.
Meanwhile I have found 2 other possible sources where I could get some V9958.
I also found somebody that can possibly deliver the "needed" Basic 3.0 roms.
("needed", because you only need the roms if you want to access the VDP through basic)
I'm still awaiting answer from the 2 new sources. I'm not sure how many chips these new sources can deliver yet... A positive thing however is that one of the new sources is a lot closer to home than Japan
I'll keep you guys up to date

I've got software (written by Ramon vd Winkel) that allows you to use the VDP from BASIC via a 'subrom emulator'. MSX-BASIC 3.0 without need for real roms!
I talked about this before on this forum, and I recently found the disk. I will be uploading it to MSX Banzai! with the next update. |

I can get 9 V9958 chip from Italy.
I can also get the Basic 3.0 ROMs.
V9958 = 17 euro
Basic 3.0 = 8 euro (for 8235,8245,8220)
Basic 3.0 = 16 euro (for 8250,8255,8280 needs 2 roms)
