I have downloaded the MSXplayer and I have installed it, but it seems I did something wrong.
I can start the player in basicmode and I can play two games that come with the player.
But the nice skins I have seen in bussum, I have not.
In the install directory of the player I find a icon named "elate", if I try to activate that icon, I get an error (Boot image file sysplatformwin32develop.img not found).
What did I do wrong?

If you downloaded MSXPLAYer you've done something highly illegal. Of course it was only a matter of time until someone offered this emulator for download on the internet, but still it disappoints me. Although it is discutable whether or not warez killed MSX in the eighties I am convinced that warez-ing can kill the MSX Revival.

The only way to obtain a working, legal MSXPLAYer is buying MSX Magazine in Japan. On December 1st, 2003 MSX Magazine 2 will be released, which comes with an MSXPLAYer capable of emulating the MSX turboR.

And considering the problems the topicstarter has, it seems to be a crippled version of MSXPLAYer...

I have downloaded the MSXplayer from official site of MSX association.
It seems to me this is not illegal.
I think, i have a trailversion ( see msx.org /newspost961.html)

The only thing I see over there is a patch for the PocketPC version of MSXPLAYer. You need the original version for that one. And a PocketPC

Hmmm my memory must be fading then. As far as I know I only reported about betaversions of MSXPLAYer (which are no longer available on the ASCII website) and the PocketPC patch.

Yes that was the newspost where i talk about.
If this version is only capable to play some games, then i delete it, because i'm not a gamer, but i'm more interested in music, graphics and hardwareprogramming (in basic).
In the past i wrote a program for the sonyplotter, that uses and generate the hpgl, and i made a version for the Mondriaanplotter that was publist in Electuur.
Now i'm programming drivers for the Roland A3 plotter.
If this is ready, then i wil give it to the world.

the MSXPLAYer which you downloaded is very limited. Better try NLMSX. I think it fits your needs.
