I don't think they need convincing... You on the other hand........

As said, MSX Association has set foot on 2 dutch MSX fairs already.. I'd call that overseas steps!

There is no reason for anyone to think they will not make their products available outside of japan, because if they intended to remain japan-only they would never bother to fly to other parts of the world.

Patience, my lad, patience... Things don't happen overnight.

IF msx.org were to talk to MSX Association right now, it would still take some time to get things started. That's the whole problem with the MSX revival... Things take time, for several reasons (development time, careful investments, negociations), yet people are often impatient.

patience is a good thing... keeping eager MSX freaks waiting for so long is totally the opposite of "a good thing" :|

As if such things as a revival should happen over night... (NOT!)... It might take a few years before somkething you can touch will be available when it comes to the MSX Revival.

Just think of it this way: MSX is dead. There's no interest. Nobody cares. There are no users left.

Now close this site. Turn on your PS2. Play Unreal tournament 2 on your pc. Enjoy.Be happy.

Tomorrow, you can come back and do the same as above. Or enjoy and charish what little is left of the MSX community. A community that grows a little every month thanks to the internet and the efforts of our visitors who discover this and other msx sites. See how you can help. Don't wait for that big hand to guide you through life. Be active instead of passive and being a wanker. Maybe papa MSX comes for your hand. Maybe not. Don't wait for it. You miss the great little things that happen right this very moment. Be positive instead of negative. The last option is easier, but it won't get you anywhere in life. If you still enjoy MSX, be a part of this little community. Else, take your complaints somewhere else, that spot where all the other weenies are already.

They left us. Boehoehoe. <<sigh>>

Enjoy that what's left, continued and rebuild in small parts. Forget the rest.

NO

slow progress may be overruned anytime because of his sluggishness

and slow progress gives only hope to who is waiting for the COMPLETE GOAL

a fast and efficient job is better than an illusionary job

I agree with you totally!
Do you really think they would just come, if there was no MSX Revival?
No, I guess they didn't.
I also guess they also wanted to see, how active the MSX still is in Europe.
From several places, with dead signals, are coming new lightpoints and new activities.
Here's a usefull speach for ya:
Better 1 MSX Revival in your hand, then dreaming about 10 MSX Revivals in the air..

Ps: These were my € 0,02 cents

allright, i think it's time to reactivate this topic!!

i have complained here, that the msx association doesnt seem to do anything international. to achieve a worldwide msx revival, the obviously shouln't keep things in japan(ese).

users here that had opposite opinions about stuff (like late guyver800 and koetjemsx (post above mine), grauw and some mrc mods/admins, convinced me that patience is mandatory. yes, patience is a good thing.

ok, i especially complained about the fact that the msx association site was still in japanese only (in january 2004). i personally find it very strange that there didnt come an english (international) version while much time has passed (from tilburg 2000 until january 2004).

but now... www.msxa.fcm.co.jp is STILL IN JAPANESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! another 5 months have passed, and there is still no change. i am beginning to believe that an international msx revival is going to be a huge fiasco.

btw1: i do not expect to see everything in a international form instantly, i never did. but transferring information around the globe does require something else than a japanese language. to spread and obtain information, we use websites. but the msx associational is just (NL: laks) and still doesnt show any interest towards us.
on top of that: modifying a simplistic website like www.msxa.fcm.co.jp does NOT require any intensive work at all, but in the meanwhile...... no progress here

Maybe some english-speaking people who are able to read japanese could try to offer his/her services regarding to translations. If those guys agree, we're outta trouble. Otherwise, we (non-japanese) could try to set up a site of our own, containing translations or the latest news concerning this subject. MRC might be an ideal solution to this. If anyone would be able to translate something of that respective site, the latest news could be posted here as well.
But I guess that still doesn't mean that the MSX Revival will go international...
