Hello, i'm looking for a very old and japanesegame i used to play when i had my MSX-2 plugged and working.
If you have some game knowledge, the game was much like Steel Panthers for PC, that is, wargame turn based with hexagons.
It had a "map" editor, and there were two players, Blue and Red. You could play against the computer or against another human Player. I still have the original disks but they do not work anymore and no labels...
I can't remember the games's name because it was in japanese (the splash screen). And also because it was more than 14 years ago since i last saw this.
If you happen to have some information, screenshots or something that can lead me to this game, i will be appreciated. I have the MSX-2 with the Floppy Drive working but i'm looking for this game. I would also use it under some emulator if the disks cannot be found. I'm willing to pay for this game.
Thanks in advance,
Martin./

I'd say the game you are looking for is Big Strategy (or Great Strategy) 1 or 2 by Micro Cabin. The Japanese title is 'Daisenryaku'. I guess it's still downloadable somewhere from the internet.

Till the day Xak 1 came out I believed that Great Strategy was CALLED "Micro Cabin" since those were the only readable characters in the game. I found out later that Micro Cabin was the developer, not the name of the game |

Same happened to me... i looked for a game under the name Micro Cabin and couldn't find it... and now that i've got the name... perhaps.. but i've been looking and can't seem to find the rom (or a place to buy it!)
(I guess that i'm looking for GStr II, because i used to play it between 1990/1992... or something and the first one was dated in 1986) I can't find a screen shoot to compare tough...
Ideas?
I've found this... -> http://www.generation-msx.nl/translations/download/bigstrategy2_english.zip
which appears to be the game?
Check it here... http://www.generation-msx.nl/index.php?url=/msxdb/translations
I don't have the openMSX stuff working, can somebody try it for me? (i haven't got a clue on how to make that work)
Thanks again.
Martin.

Thank you, i now realized that I'm looking for Great Strategy 1, not 2. I've managed to run GS2 using NLMSX v 0.48 but is not the game i was looking for. By looking at the screenshots of the website you've sent me, i can tell that I need GS1...
Any point to its room will be appreciated.
Thanks!
Martin.

Unfortunately that's against our policies... if you want a boxed (original) version you can look for it in our trading forums (ask), on eBay and (but mostly difficult to order things there) Yahoo auctions Japan.

Well I wouldn't care to buy an original boxed version or pay for it, if I were able to find it. Ebay shows nothing. I'll try your forums. I'll let yahoo japan as a last resource. My japanese level is -5.
Thanks.
Martin.
