I'll check. So, you're saying the version I used can't SAVE to disk (I use emulator NLMSX, with a BLANK .dsk image in drive A 
and this version does??

That's it. I had the same problem (same emulator too) and someone in these forums told me about this version. It runs perfectly, make a new disk image and enjoy no-bugs-shalom.

you have to talk with her, at first, she refuses to give you one, then a "flatter" option will appear inside "to do"option.

I've talked and talked.. no option to flatter her.
I visited her cousin (the other old woman, a few screens to the left) and she advised me indeed to flatter her. got back, still no flattering option. I'll try again later, gonna explore shalom a bit more, one of these days when I'm bored. for now, marry x-mas (bleh) and speak to u later

If I'm not mistaken you have to use options "Look" and "Exam" first. You will say that she is a crazy-old-witch or something similar. It's then when you have to use "To do" option. If it doesn't work try every option with her a pair of times. I'm SURE that's the way to get the candle.
