Hi, I'm pretty new in this foro.

I have some old game I 've developed by myself. I would like to see them again.
But I have them in a floppy disk in my hard disk.

I've got the fMSX and BRMSX3.0, but I don't know how to load the MS-DOS nor map the driver.

Can someone give me a piece of advice ?

Emulators use generally disk images, but some emulators can handle real MSX disks inserted in the PC drive.

You don't precise your version of fMSX. If this is fMSX-DOS 1.6b2a, you can use the real MSX disk

BRMSX 3.0 uses only disk images.

You can't use MS-DOS on a MSX computer or emulator, but MSX-DOS that is composed of 2 files : msxdos.sys and command.com. You must put these files on a real disk or a dsk image to get a MSX-DOS 1 disk.

There's also MSX-DOS 2 that needs 2 files (msxdos2.sys - command2.com) and a special rom image (or the real cartridge)

To create a dsk image from a MSX disk, the best tool is DiskManager that you can find on the RuMSX site : http://members.eunet.at/lexlechz/

I don't know if you're using a Windows platform, but most people do. If you are using Windows (Which I guess because you say you can't start MS-DOS) I think maybe NLMSX or RuMSX are easier to use for you.

Apart from installing them there is not much you have to do. You can then load .dsk images or .rom images by just using a menu like you're used to in Windows.

To get NLMSX (which I prefer) or RuMSX just search for the words in a search engine like Yahoo or whatever you prefer. Download and install them, and you're off. Especially NLMSX has excellent sound, much better than fMSX.
