Hi everybody,
Just browsing around trying to find stuff for my PX-7 and came across this site.
I was wondering if anybody could help me find a keyboard for my PX-7, and maybe eventually get it hooked up to a LD player. I have a Pioneer CLD-D515 which is NTSC compatible, but it's a modern one -1996 I think. It has a mini jack plug labelled "control" on the back.
I'm bidding on a Laserdisc game on eBay at the moment, which is kind of important.. but what should my next step be?
My PX-7 is PAL, though - what would happen if I try and connect it to the NTSC LD player? I'm kind of intrigued.
I reckon the first thing is to find a keyboard though... any pointers?
Thanks!

I do not have, or have ever owned a PX7, but can I guide you to the MSXFAQ which has some information about the PX7 including a wiring diagram for the cable needed. It might be of help www.faq.msxnet.org
The keyboard might be easier, there is a device by Padial electronics which will allow you to use a PC keyboard with any MSX computer |

Excellent - thanks for that.
I don't remember my LD player having such a complex connector, but that jack labelled "Control" must be for something...
Sorry I missed it in the FAQ - hate asking FAQS - muct've been because it was down as the connector for the LD player rather than the PX-7 connector.
I shall take a look now for Padial stuff, though - would be nice to get my PX-7 running properly, even without the right keyboard. Of course I have a perfectly good NMS8250 anyway, but that's not the point.
Thanks again! |

For the PX-7 and PX-V7 you need a specific laserdisc player.
Not many of these are available, but they can be found in Japan.
I have a Pioneer LD-5000 currently underway, which should be compatible.
There are more models which are compatible, but I don't know all of the product ID's.
Check faq.msxnet.org, there's some info on the Pioneer PX-7 there.
