Hello,
I was surfing the Internet, when i found this unusual thing
http://www.itmedia.co.jp/games/gsnews/0309/13/news01.html
Do you see? this is The Castle, but the room in the screen shot was never in the msx version of either game!! Alas, the page is in japanese. Could anyone please say anything about this?
Is this a new Castle Game? Following the links some how, I found a page with two other screen shots, and the words Win95/98/2000... (can't remember the URL)
The only thing i can understand is the words Win95/98... Is this a version of the Castle for windows?
Does any one know the price? Where can i get it? any info? I really love this game...
Thank you in advance... |

I'm very sorry about it, but links to game roms are not allowed on this forum.

IIRC 'The Castle' and 'Castle Excellent' never had a title-screen saying 'The Castle and the Princess'. This game is a PC-8801 version. I wonder if it's indeed the 3rd game in the series... And why isn't there an MSX port?

Is even better. You can paste bits of text in the left window, select the bottom entry in the middle list and press the orange button.
In my experience single bits of text is easier to understand then the whole URL and way faster too |

Hello,
I have found the second one!
http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/digifami/products/ascii/castle.html
Have a look at the two screen shots at the bottom for what they claim is "Castle Excellent". See the new first room! with the map in the small cage at the top right!
And there is the Win95/98/2000/XP.
Is this a remake? AMAZING. This is a MUST-HAVE!

These games are not remakes for windows. They run on MSX-PLAYer (or in the case of the PC-8801 games, on a PC-8801 emulator) and are sold at Project Egg. MSX Resource Center has posted numerous times about Project Egg (just see the Revival Topic by clicking 'news topics' on the left menu), and it's the living proof MSX is not dead and games are sold commercially. This thread even proves people want them
