Biography
=========
I started with my first MSX with a tape recorder (MSX1) when I was 14 year. It was so doll, that I wanted more.
I then came in contact with Arjan van Kooi, and he had and MSX also. We started to exchage stuff and it was fun!
Then I started an intrest in MSX-Basic, after I bought my first MSX2 the Basic knowledge began to evolve.
In the late '80 I was confronted with Kun_Basic, and this was FAST! for the time being (and for a BASIC programmer).
I could almost programm something in KUN, that an ML'er could code. Sometimes I even rewrote demo's (like te shutlle demo of UMF)
in KUN just to see how fast KUN could be.

In de ealy 90's I came in contact with MGF. I told them that I created lotst of music, but never had a real purpose for it.
Jan Van Valburg (main programmer of MGF at the time) created a player which could play my music. Mgf Music Collection 2 was born.

When Jan left to Manchester City, MGF didn't have anyone who could create any code. That's where I came in. Starting with BASIC MGF Magazine 1
was born. While I developed my programming skilles, so did MGF Magazine.

After releasing MGF Mag 7, I began to evolve an interest in ML (Assembly if you like). It was another door, another heaven...

While developing my programming skills, my music also developed. I became in contact with chords etc.. and last but not least the opl4!
The opl4 really boasted my music skilles. MSX-Audio sucked big time, and opl4 ruled!

While I was a full time coder and musician I got Pfeifer (that's that illness when a person gets very tired).
This illness didn't stop me, so I went on coding and composing.. Until... Study...

I had to work at a company in Gouda, and I was working more on my study, then on my coding skills (however, my study had everything to do with coding )
When I reached MGF Magazine 18, I thought it was time to pass the torch. I gave all the sources and method descriptions to MGF on how to develop there MGF Magazine.
I was too busy working on my study... I was able to programm a piece from time to time, until my Turbo-R computer suddenly stopped...

And that's where my MSX story ended... My MSX stopped... Suddenly... So did I...

After 5 years, Arjan van Kooi (the same guy who introduced me to the MSX-Scene) came with an MSX NMS 8250... I thought 'give me, give me..'
And here I am again. Ok, not as active as in the past, but alive and kicking!

Good to have you back Erwin! And another impressive resume on the MRC! Say euhm, about those products you created... we would not mind hosting them in our Downloads database or Webshop if you'd like to show them to other MSXers

Haha, it was. The plan's still there, the music is, too and the programmer is still lacking . Just like six years ago, when you and I first talked about you doing the programming. I was still living at my room in Oegstgeest back then. It's the centre of Leiden now, by the way, very convenient

You can find the details in the Sargon/MSX part of my website Samanet.
