hmm... well, maybe I shouldn't ever release anything evermore, if that's what you want..

and the list of ppl who seriously want you to stop that, is growing.. here, on the mailinglist and on IRC .. |

Wow what a childish posts.... I couldn't care less how a person decides to release his songs. If he likes to do that as .mp3 or for instance he decides to use the .mod format I'm still free in my choice of listening. If I think I'd like to listen to his .mod or .mp3 I will do that otherwise I don't. But I'll never criticise a person for that.

Ofcourse he can do that. But the POINT here is that WHILE only releasing an MP3, he urges people to upgrade their MoonSound to 640K!! Which ofcourse nobody will do if there is no content!!!
You people seem to have trouble seeing the nuances here.

There WILL be content in the future, and this tune only demonstrates to ppl w/o 640k what the difference will be if they expand to 640k (and I'm talking about highly mem-optimized samples, not about complete chunks of music, or instruments that could have been smaller if they had been edited properly). I'm only creating a stronger system-specs-base for the future. In how many foreign languages do you want me to repeat the same line?

There's NO GUARANTEE that the mp3 is coming from MoonSound, and is completely unfiltered. Furthermore, mp3's sound like crap, and they sound even more like crap on my PC speakers. My MoonSound (and this counts for many people) is connected to a HQ amp+speaker combo which is a huge difference.

I've got both my PC and Moonsound connected to the HQ-DTS system. No noiz here. I always thought OPL4 for MSX was the best sound balance. PC on PC speakers do indeed sound like crap.. I think it is comparing a Electric Guitar with a DrumSet.
And MP3 sounds like crap? Depend on the quality it is compressed I think. |

...as for composing on music on PC (hint) I mostly used FastTracker2. IT and ScreamTracker never really 'did it' for me. Cakewalk was and still is one of my favorites when it comes to MIDI.

Depends on the soundsource... cakewalk controls other sound sources, where a tracker is usually a soundsource by itself.. it's all about what you want to control..

Nice that there's some moderation here... A shame that moderation is needed though...
Will search my archives for Impulstracker, grab some samples from here and threre and then I give it a shot again...
Thanks for all the positive people's replies though...

Well Here's my List:
Modplug Tracker (Mostly Used if it comes to tracking)
MadTracker 2 (Has advanced filtering issues whitch sound cool)
FastTracker2 (before I came in contact with Modplug)
Reason (if it comes to complex composing methods)
Cubasis Becauz it's 100% compatible with my SBlive.
SoundForge (of SonicFoundy) for sampling stuff
Magix Music Studio 2000 for the final touch (Midi isn't supported here since XP )
Mpeg Suite to convert the Wav's to Mp3 (for my MP3 Player)
currently I'm waiting to try my hand on Flaw (dspaudio). There vision sounds promising
And I'm monitoring the developments of Pulse Mp /Enigma & Impulse Tracker 3.

I'm a big cakewalk fan too.
As for trackers, I have a huge disliking for trackers that have seperate note/effects columns. IMO it adds useless screengarbage, taking away my overview of the music.
