| As for trackers, I have a huge disliking for trackers that have seperate note/effects columns.
|
luckily IT2 has the following keycombis: ctrl+shift + [1] | [2] | [3] | [4] | [0] to make the channels smaller.. and if you don't want this, the play-mode (F5) can show all channels while playing..

For electronic dancemusic I would recomment Renoise. Its a great tracker with VSTi support, vsti are kinda like softsynths, and also vst for effects/mastering.

I agree.. The only prob with VSTisoft synth are (and that's my opinion):
- they're a lot (mass overkill...)
- they're expensive
At least when I look at Future Music Magazine that is...

Dunno if any might remember my style, but that was not really electronic dancemusic at all...
More the easy listening with some up tempo parts... And, not to mention, the 'impact riedel'.

Still the VST support for enhancing/processing the sound will give you the "modern" sound you are looking for |

Is there a tracker for the PC which uses midi to where you can edit like in moonblaster?
I mean not uses the keyboard as a piano.
But when you want d#5 you just type d#5 if you know what I mean.
Non of the trackers I downloaded are all like editing with the keyboard as piano.
There was one program that almost reach my expectations it was called "MiGtracker for windows".
But it was not intent for use with windows Xp and only has 64 patterns like moonblaster do.
And it gaves much errors.

I tried but it worked the same as all other trackers on PC.
They just turn the keyboard in a piano....
And I had even a diskussion with the maker of the program why he did not make the user a choice to use one of those methodes.
Maybe you can e-mail him with the same question....
In his opinion is only his methode the best because there a a lot more PC tracker componist which like Protracker etc then MSX tracker componists.
Do you know what I mean? |

Exactly why do you want to completely type those notes, rather than typing the piano-way? In MB I can imagine using the type-method, since the piano-mode is kinda stinky. But in typical PC-apps the pianomode works like a charm.

Because I can make music faster on the Moonblaster way.
I don't want to look to wich key is wich note.
It is not a fast methode.....
And surely when you want to input the following notes for instance:
D#1 D#4 C#1 C#4 etc etc........
It is just an example but on MB you are a lot faster on the PC way you need to stay in the same octave...Do you now what I mean?
I think when you can make a choice which way of input you prefer it is a lot better.

I don't quite agree for multiple reasons, but alas ..
AFAIK there's no such thing on PC..
