The first msx game I played was also Vacuumania.. like the starter of this thread .. I played it on my toshiba HX-10 which I bought from an ad in the local newspaper.

After that I got completeley hooked on Pinguin/Antarctica? from Konami and Boulderdash.. The latter has very often been remade for various systems.. But it's still a great game !

After I repaired the spacebar on the HX-10 i got into playing Yie-Ar kung fu and Pippols.. After that I believe it was Zanac.. Around that time I bought a completely wrecked MSX2. it was totally in pieces.. So after a lot of soldering, gluein g and soldering I got it working.. That's when I got my hands on Metal Gear.. after that I started programming more than playing games....

I think the first games I played were Lemans 2, Les Flics and Break In. On a tapedeck.
Disc Warrior and Blagger also come to mind.
Seeing those games work on me like a sort of mental timemachine, hehe.

There also was this game where you controlled a canon, which you could only move up and down, and you had to shoot tanks to protect your base. If you lost, the enemy would raise a flag showing a dead head on your base. I really can't remember the name, never seen it again.

And about Red Lights of Amsterdam: I had Amsterdam By Night. So you could see the "dirty" pictures without playing any cards. Heehee.

Isn't there supposed to be an MSX 2 version of Yab Yum? Heard of it once. Would be great, man!

Fernando Martin Executive Version (Dinamic), Soul of a Robot (Mastertronics), Abu Simbel Profanation (Dinamic) and Army Moves (Dinamic). Those were the first tapes I bought for my MSX

I won't count listings here, so the first game I played was Snake It! Still love it!

Roadfighter, I think. Or King's Valley. Or Namcot's Tankbatalion. Heck, it's years ago!

yeah indeed, V&D's in Holland had large sections of MSX stuff,I bought my 8220 there
(i had the choice between a 64 and an msx). I remember they sold the music module
and keyboard too there.
First game I bought was ninja II from jaleco...a lot of games came in these realy big
covers,which just had a casette and a booklet...and some promo bit about other games
in the series.

It is difficult to remember but I played Zanac, Sorcery and other games at my uncle's house, and with his Sanyo MPC-100.

A few months later my mother gave to me a cool Sanyo MPC-64. The first game that I played at my home was the great Beamrider from Activision (original cassette that salesmas gave me with the computer).

My first "recorded" games were Taekwondo and Knightmare... both recorder in one cassette, one game in each side. Oh... I remember first time I watched Knightmare... :'-(

hehe coming across this thread again, I still think my first MSX game was Hypers Sports 1, so it must be true!
