| 16MB laptop DIMM in a 8250?

Hi!
Is it possible to use a 16MB laptop DIMM in a 8250?
The DIMM consists of 8 chips of 2MB (I think) so if the DIMM is not usable, can I at least use one of the memorychips? And if yes; how?
I vaguely remember some article about using a 4MB SIMM in a 8250 but I can't find it anymore... Tips, anyone?

I'm no expert but I do know that modern dimm have very different memory. (wow, bad English  ) |

Using a 4 MB SIMM in a NMS8250 is designed and described by Hans Oranje.

Although I probably can't use this DIMM, I'm sure I can think of something (like cannibalizing my Atari Mega STE, which has 4x1MB SIMMs and I hardly use it anyway).

What I basically meant to get across, was that these URL errors are fairly obvious, which can be found by just checking your post ONCE. If you want to be helpful and in order to not send people on a wild goose chase, it's probably a good idea to be a little more thorough. |
