It seems to have some similarities with ballout (see here ) as well...
But that's not a problem. A game doesn't have to be 100% original, as long as it has an original approach! (and it's no secret I prefer original GFX and levels as well ) |

What's problematical about it? The integration in your game, or the composition of the music itself?

not hard to guess, its obvious the composing of music itself. i could not understand if it were such a problem to simply use some mwm/mbm CALL statements |

Cool
BASIC is very susceptive to improved algorithms and calculations.
Even removing spaces between commands improves speed! |

NestorPreTer might be a nice tool for that...
Write in readable basic and let it convert to optimized basic. You can even use macro's and stuff. And no line numbers. Very comfortable
Anyway Rudi, I'm looking forward to your game. Looks original indeed, at least on MSX! |

NPR isn't very useful when you don't have DOS2. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Anyway, when you really want to make proper use of NPR, I suggest you do that with an A1ST with IDE, Compass, NBASIC and a whole shitload of other tools.
Because the best way to improve a program, is to make it Turbo BASIC compatible, that is, NestorBASIC. And Compass is very useful to keep BASIC listings *READABLE*. Very important thing, methinks. Finally, the A1ST is necessary for quick parsing of the basic source, and of course loading it in BASIC. NPR creates a plain ASCII program you know... A way to avoid the output being ASCII:
1) DOS: A:NPR SOURCE.ASC
2) BASIC: LOAD "SOURCE.BAS"
3) BASIC: SAVE "SOURCE.BAS"
4) BASIC : RUN
