The colors on TFT are usually horrid renditions of the originals... |

I tried plugging in two of my MSX computers via a mid-range upscan converter to a VGA monitor (15" Sony Trinitron) and a TFT one (17" . Nowhere near as good as a good old CRT. After some fine tuning, the colours and shapes looked OK'ish in screen 0 (40 chars), screen 1 and higher, however screen 0 (80) was distorted with ghosting and very blurry edges.

I also have ghosting and blurry edges in my CRT TV set when I choose width 80, may be not as much as you, but much blurry than I remember to have in my old and now missed Philips RGB monitor.

Oh, yes, I used to have a Star monitor with a Yamaha MSX2 plugged into it. Width 80 was fantastic. It looks quite blurry on my current Sony Trinitron CRT TV as well. At least the colours are natural.
It seems that XRGB-3 is the only upscan converter that gets the MSX image right, but the toy is still very expensive.
Out of curiosity, I also took off the shelf my Sony PSX1 (that had been collecting dust for years) and plugged it into the same VGA monitor via the same upscale converter, the quality of the image was great, even better than that of the TV. Ah well...

Any proud XRGB-3 owners out there? Is it really worth buying? Perhaps someone could even publish a snapshot of the text screen in 80-character mode.
