Cool, I'm actually getting somewhere at last! Thanks!

One thing still puzzles me (and it still doesn't work): I can only creates disk images that are 760 Kb big.
Some of the files I need to put on it (which MbWave contains), are 760 Kb alone!
Even command.com is, so it seems?

When I try to add those files, I get "Disk Full". How can this be?

It's quite logical if you remember that an MSX disk is only 720 kB

Hey Jorrith! How are you?

It's logical indeed, but why is windows saying that some segments of MbWave and even command.com itself, ALONE are already 720 Kb by themselves?
I can't understand that.
When I still had a normal MSX, I used to have a disk with MbWave, Msx-Dos on it, plus several wavekits and songs.
So why is dskexplorer saying "Disk Full" all the time?
I just can't see what I'm doing wrong...

it seems dskexplorer doesn't work correctly on your machine, so just use winimage to create the images and patch the bootsector with some tool you can get in the MRC downloads section.

Or, use wrdsk or dodsk even!

And, Johnny, don't forget to check out openMSX, too, for Moonsound emulation

In MSX-DOS2, you can use FIXDISK to create an MSX (-DOS2) bootsector. Should be ok, although maybe a turboR can get confused and boot in DOS2 mode when you want DOS1. But ahwell... Depends if that's a concern.

John. I have the perfect solution. In a few weeks I am going to Rieks in Leiden and I happen to have a working nms8245 in a dusty dark corner of my MSX dungeon. If you like I can bring it for you, together with the proper (real) disks. You still have your moonsound do you?
