well, since I never finished the game ... But have you tried KSS ? That plays all Konami tunes.. psg&scc ..

Actually, I think that if you refer to 'the famous tune' from firebird, that there's 9/10 chance that it's that 4-measure thingy

Yes, there are projects like Yawara that prove this

It requires you to identify parts of the game program that are needed for music playing, and data parts that represent the music itself. Then cut those from the game, and provide an interface.

Well you have the 4 measure thingy which is very cool, and you have the credits tune, which is longer and also a very cool tune.

peronally i absolutely love hinotori/firebirds songs. Most Konami's ofcourse have beautiful arranged music but for me hinotri always had something special. Especially the credits-tune, which is just marvelous. There are some places on the internet with Firebird music, both in midi and MP3. Google for "firebird music" or "hinotori music" and you'll be glad to se alot of hits

btw you could always loadup the game, pause, press home twice and type 'enddemogamitaina' and listen to the music LOL you can do that as often you please

I like the game-music (I mean while playing) very much, it's a great piece.

Firebird aka Hinotori (or the otherway around) indeed has some of the best PSG tunes ever, not to mention the SFX !! Really a great job done by Konami (as always.. duh)

ps. funny Usas got the best PSG credits in an earlier poll on MRC while firebird is atleast equal in quality.. imo.
