Hmmm...

* Illusion City
I cannot understand why, but this game somehow never really got the recognition it deserves... It is a very good game! I guess it's 'cause it was never translated but the graphics, animations, music, plot... all superb!

* Herzog
One of my all-time fave's... Too bad the game is so darn short. Would've been great to have like a boat-load of missions to choose from.

* Greatest Driver
I really liked this game a lot. Dunno why tho, maybe it's just me. It's still pretty good tho, the music too.

* Testament
Prolly not really that good, but I do remember it being one of the first real MSX games I played (real as in not crap).

* Seed of Dragon
This game is really strange, very un-MSX like to my taste, but not all bad. Ofcourse it doesn't use half of the Turbo-R's capacity, but it's still not all that bad. If I were a better gamer I would've probably played the whole game... But ofcourse I suck at games...

* Starship Rendezvous
Well, the game's not very good... But with music like that, who the hell needs a game! Best darn game music ever! (Gotta love those drums)

Well, let's forget Nemesis 2 for a while and think of other nice games... :-P

* Undeadline

Anyone finished it without cheating? I did, when I was younger. At first it seems easy, but it is actually DAMN difficult to finish it. Besides playability is very nice.

* Retaliator

Very ugly graphics. But very very nice musics. Pity that it is so short.

* Kyokugen

Still I can't believe that it is an amateur game. Me (Konamiman, the Nemesis-eater) had a very hard time to finish it... sometimes the difficulty is simply paranoic, I love it!

* Mister Ghost

This game has, above all, atmosphere. Special mention to the musics: can someone tell a game which has more atmospheric PSG tunes?

* Psycho World

I think it is the kind of game that you either love or hate at first sight. Well, I loved it and of course I finished it (again, when I was younger). It has a lot of small tricks that you need to discover to advance, and this makes it a very interisting game.

* Hyper Somen

The Konami game of eating noodles (not rice!) withour letting them to fall on the floor. My wife is playing it right now. I can't understand how a so stupid game can be so damn funny! X-D

And that's all for now... hey, it is true, there is life beyond Nemesis!

Payload: a game where you're a truck driver going through Japan delivering goods between towns/cities.

It's funny how some of the games listed are actually quite popular...

Undeadline was certainly not underrated, being awarded with the best game the year! (rightfully so, I might add)

* Greatest Driver 2D Special (published on one of the T&E disk mags)
Great game in multiplayer mode (3 players at the same time!), not that appealing in single player mode though.

* Ryukyu
Very addictive mixture of Yathzee and Solitaire. At first it doesn't look much fun, but once you completed a few levels and know what to do, it's hard to stop.

* Ankanbe Dragon
Actually I don't think this game is really underrated, but anyway it's a very nice strategic action game.

* SD Gundam
Very nice strategic game, almost like playing Advance Wars on the gba.

I used to play Pinball by T&E a lot - in fact I found it very addictive!

Finder Keepers by Mastertronic was an excellent game, it didnt seem to get much of a mention outside the UK

* La Abadía del Crimen:
It is almost unknown outside Spain because it was released in spanish only. Now, it is also availble in english soft.mundivia.es/mpazos/abadia (versiones -> Remake en color (english version))
It has an incredible atmosphere, very nice graphics, good story line and is amazingly coded. But it is almost impossible to finish without a walkthrough (and a map of the labyrinth) Aaahh... what a nice memories...

* Super Runner:
This is *the game* for two players mode. Highly adictive and funny.

* Rune Worth
Lovely music and graphics, original storyline: you're just a laborer and the monsters are a PITA, instead of "you're a prince and the monsters give you treasure". Needs a translation.

You're no laborer, you're a bandit. And I think you should take a look at this .

Most underrated games? Vampire by CodeMasters (great atmosphere, nice graphics for an English title), Feud by Bulldog (very original game concept and really fun to play) and Rollerball by HAL (the best pinball game ever).

My impression from years ago was that you start out from your village as the son of a poor laborer, and that the guys with the green bandannas were the bandits. But you may be right.

In any case, I'm enthralled by the idea of a translation, but "Completed: 10%" is not exactly encouraging. I remember scrolling through really long kanji conversations all throughout the game, so I can't imagine he'll be done soon.

...

* Another vote for Super Runner and Payload - both are really fun games.

* Fireball
* Roller Ball
* World Golf
* Xixolog
* Zoom 909

It sure is a lot of work and to be honest, I haven't translated any part of Rune Worth for over half a year now, due to lack of time. But I can assure you I am right about the bandits

Mirror Maze on the Peach Up series. It's a bit of an adventure type game where you have to solve mirror styled puzzles. When you see passed the additional pictures and other small stories, the game is a really neat puzzle game.

* The Fairyland Story (by Game Arts, I believe)

Very great and addictive MSX1 game, very much like Bubble Bobble (Taito). Instead of bubbling enemies, you shoot at them and they become pies which you destroy by shooting at them or push them off an abyss. You can also smack other enemies by pushing a pie on them. This game really has lots of features (about thrice as much as Bubble Bobble) and an incredible difficulty setting
