Probably I did something wrong, but I never enjoyed playing RoA. Sure, the graphics were nice, there were some nice novelties as well (spellcasting, animations), the music was nice, the idea was nice, but the gameplay... I hardly played any game which was so tough to start with. If I remember correctly, it was quite hard to gain enough levels (or was it gold again?) to make a little bit progression in the game. Or maybe I just quit too soon because I had similar experiences with The Lost World

Funny you mention that. My whole idea with RoA was to create an RPG that was not all about mazes and enless fights, as PA3 and TLW were.

Not to be rude, but it's like we're waiting here endlessly...

Wow, rikusu, the game was as short as it is and you didn't manage to finish it?? ^_^ ooohh what flies there, hey it's my respect for you flying away ;p.

Then you probably misread. I didn't finish the game because I didn't enjoy it

Well, there were mazes in PA3 and TLW indeed, but they surely were not the main element of these games. But the game balance was much better in PA3 than it was in its sequels (fights in PA3 were always well doable, fights in the sequels got pretty boring really soon because you had to hit about a hundred times before the enemy went down).

The only thing you can do to avoid mazes, is making the maps in a game more linear. Route 1 leads to place 1, route 2 to place 2... Don't leave open too much choices. RoA, however, leaves open almost every direction in almost every screen :/

I enjoyed TLW a lot and my brother Jochen (you know us, Peter! ;-) simply loved RoA! The level is great! It has a whole extra dimension compared to the previous RPGs... I'd very much love it to be finished!

Peter, thanks for the credits but they should go to Hans Cnossen and Fredrik Boelens(chaos-nickname).
Although I am a little bit surprised that you want to continue with Roa , or I am I wrong.
You gave me the impression that you wanted to stop totally. Due to various private reasons and the lack of interest to help to continue UMax for which I have full respect.
It would, however unwise to give people again the impression that something would be finished. We had to realize that many potential buyers read this kind of forum-posts.
If everyone who claims to want to help send me an email , yes I will help am I glad to be the guide again and continue also the distribution.
I have still many covers, labels, manuals unsold, so that it would saves sunrise a lot of costs if we havenot to throw away this stuff.
This all under the construction ,that we go for it without hesitation and with the little time that is available to everyone who want to help

So let's do it if we want and the same is valid for Tansu Tansu

Fighting in RoA was indeed quite hard at the beginning. that was done deliberately. On one hand so you could not level up too fast, on the other hand because fighting was no longer the main focus of getting exp and gold. Personally, I found battles in PA3 and TLW very boring. I wanted to do this differently in RoA. Personally I think I succeeded in that. (while it lasted)

Well, that was the point of RoA. To allow the player to wander around the world having adventures.

Like I said, I am of course interested to continue work on RoA (that never stopped) it's just time that is my bottleneck. Like I said, if I have to do it alone, I can and will not make any deadline promises, meaning it might take me years to finish just part two.

If people are really interested to help and are willing to invest time in it, it might make a difference. If you seriously want to help, please email me at peter.meulendijks@hetnet.nl and i'll see how many offer help.

I think sincerly you leave it everytime in the middle,(look at your last few sentences,
it isnot in that I might but I DO, might is thus such a kind of word that gives doubt)
and waiting for people who want to help. So therefore, it has to be a YES OR A NO from a few sides, not only yours ofcourse
Freetime is a rare good, we all have and want to divide within the right proportions.
As said I want to coordinate, and sent you the emails I receive to you also.
But if you receive answers I want to have them as well.
So meaning I set a deadline on the 24th of september.

The rest we talk by phone or private email. First TLW !
