Well, I don't have the time to do that, and I also lack the motivation to do so. But maybe msx.org or some other MSX-organisation can try to think of an event, or a news-worthy development and try to contact some media to get some attention.

I saw there was a thread about doing some kind of MSX Game-remake competition. My guess is that PC-Active might have quite some old MSX-ers as their readers. How about contacting them to do a retro-article about this subject? With their history, they might be interested in this...

Just an idea, there are tons of other posibilities as well.

TFH: we try to grab the attention of several media whenever we can. The reason why we don't start a MSX Game Remake competition is because those remakes are in a grey area. We like to report about it, but we prefer not to get involved in the actual development of those remakes. One of the angry letters we received from Japan in the past dealt with remakes. Besides, as much as I like playing a remake every now and then, I'd rather see MRC stimulating new, original MSX developments like we're doing with the challenges. It's bound to get us less media attention though

Snout: Just as I said, what I wrote is only an example. This goes both for MRC and the Remake stuff. Just an example, nothing more, nothing less!
I could have written an example with another MSx group/oraganisation with a completely different happening/constest/fair/whatever.

TFH: I already understood that, but felt I had to reply to this one already. The reason why we started the MSX in the Media Challenge is

1 - MSX users are often not aware of how often MSX gets mentioned in the media
2 - MRC could use a little help with getting MSX in the media more often. Take the USB Game Reader for example. We mailed to several news websites about it and their replies were like 'the only ones who ever submit MSX related newsposts are you'. If the same device was to be created for C64 (okay, euhm.. it didn't have cartridges, I know) it would be all over the net. So if you read something on the MRC and think 'hey, I'd like to read about these kind of things on -say- tweakers.net as well', why don't you spam them with some nice news. We already got the Z80-on-glass newspost over there

Hey Snout

As I sais earlier: I don't have the time and lack motication. Besides that, I don't am that well informed anymore as a few years ago

BTW,
C64 did have cartridges and some games were also released as a cart, but not that many

Hehe, goes to show how much I know about C64. I even had a C64 in the past Either way, point 2 was a general remark to encourage all our visitors to spam news websites all around the world about MSX. Resistance is futile, you will report about MSX!

Hmmm Luc Sala still knows about MSX, and [N]Gamer get their second nomination. Intriguing, isn't it?

I have spotted MSX in the Media...

On sunday-morning there a program on BBC one called Click Online. Last sunday they showed a segment about a museum in the UK with loads of retro computers... They also shown Hyper Viper from Kuma MSX.

The link to the stream: high bandwidth windows media or high bandwidth real media

Notice the tape coming up @ 4 minute 16 seconds... The same tape is displayed again later in a wide shot a couple of seconds later. The keyboard layout shows an MSX computer but I can't tell which one.
