| Also, I think to made some good things like Vincent. He had dumped his tape games. So, if you have some tape games, try to dump it It will be good for all the MSX community. Also, some tapes are very difficult to find. I was only trying to find Wec Le Mans, Chase HQ, Altered Beast and some another games and is simply impossible.

I couldn't agree more! I am crazy to see this Alteread Beast for MSX. I also have here a wave file that was released on hispaMSX from SWIV for MSX, but It doesnt load on MESS or on openMSX... and I dont have the cables (or the skill to build one) to connect the soundcard output to the tape input on my MSX and test this file for real...
If someone wants this image, I can make it available somewhere or upload to any ftp. |

You do not need any special cable to connect your MSX to the PC sound card: just plug the EAR cable from the MSX to the SPEAKER output of your sound card, that's all.

I've made a *.wav file of Chase HQ.
The loading process with openMSX 0.4.0 seemed to work perfectly but when the game should have started nothing happened.
Manuel Bilderbeek has told me to test the wav file in a real MSX connecting it to the PC soundcard but now I only own a turboR |

My MSX is an Expert Gradiente 1.1 with an MSX2 ACVS upgrade kit, so the cassette connector is not the standard msx connector. Check http://www.faq.msxnet.org/connector.html for details. |

By the way, the tape of Chase HQ that I used was original (not a copy).

Chase HQ has a turbo-loader, so, I guess that it needs a bit of hackwork in order to convert it with that tool. I hope to have some sparetime this summer to convert some games, like I did with WAR IN MIDDLE EARTH, that also had a turbo-loader.

Pitpan, por example MSXKUN has Altered Beast. So you don't have to find it

The problem is that hackwork needs some spare time and lots of patience. There are some other games ready to be converted. And for sure I will add to them the WAVeR v.3 fast load method.

There are still some tape games that I've never played because there isn't a *.wav or disk port of them. I've read that, for instance, Narco Police (one of the latest games of Dinamic) is a good game (can anyone confirm this?).
Maybe someday we'll see ports to disk of all these games. |

People says that Narco Police is the best game of Dinamic. I played years ago this game in the ZX Spectrum and it was very good!
Here you can play on-line the Speccy version:

I also have an original "Altered Beast" tape for MSX!, but I have no idea about how to dump it ... btw, karoshicorp.com is being redesigned by me, I just need a couple of days to finish it, but I have a lot of non-MSX work to do!!!

Just a question... talking about MSX tape games: I own an original copy of "Saint Dragon" for MSX1 and when I clear the first stage it freezes and doesn't let me load the next stage... . Anyone out there having this game for MSX running perfectly?.
Thnx, El Viejo Archivero |

I think that Martos modified the original version, and now it works perfectly in any MSX, even Turbo-R computers.

1 - Connect the output of your tape player to your PC's soundcard input
2 - open any wave recording program and record a wav from the tape
3 - compress it and spread it around =)
