Really Turbo-loader isn't a problem. the first step is to convert the spectrum sound coded blocks to "bloadables" .I did it with a Shinobi original version (from k0ga) and it is hard but a simple work using a real MSX and its own patched loader.

The next step is to convert those bloadables blocks to wav and to cas by using wav-> cas tools.

Don't know if it has been mentioned before, and don't feel like reading through the topic, but you should check out MSXMANIA on funet.
It are disk images of thousands of tape games (game collections, multiple per image).

All the games we are talking about ARE NOT in the MSXMANIA or the MSXMANIA dumpings are very bad. For example, Wec Le Mans MSXMANIA is horrible and CHASE HQ, also. Altered Beast is not in the MSX MANIA neither SWIV or Narco Police.

I tried the msxmania version and the wav-tape version that is floating around of CHASE-HQ.
They both don't work on my VG8235. So I guess msxmania version isn't that bad ;-)
It does run in nlmsx with msx1 configuration....

Yes , Fudeba made the best MSX conversion of Shinobi from the original Spectrum . I extracted the game to .cas (from the comercial tape) so it only can be played in some emulators . This one is a conversion from spectrum too but some features are disabled.

Humm, I had played the Speccy version and the Fudeba Version is the ORIGINAL MSX version with some new features taken from the Speccy Version. Note for example that MENUS are not from Speccy version, from example.

But I like Shinobi very much, and I like this version also.

Have you played Shinobi in a MSX 7MHZ computer? I play Shinobi in my VG8235... and the speed is good, not?
