Way back in history ('99 to be precise) I had a chat with some ppl. about creating a MSX hardware database.
The main idea was to obtain all information that was available for every machine known to man.
This idea was born due to the lack of 'one' place to find MSX related information.
Now the reality is here.. There is now 'one' place to obtain information, but there are still (in my opinion) too many sites with important information.
(don’t get me wrong, I know and you know where to find info, but there are a lot of others that are not like us)

A suggestion for the dbase at that time was:
Machine technical info;
Hi-res pics of the machine;
Technical service manuals;
Possible expansions for that machine;
ROM / RAM information;
How to repair it yourself;
etc.

Now the biggest questions...
- How does MRC feels about implementing a feature like this;
- Who will create the database and maintain it;
- What template will be needed to collect all information?
- Who will fill out the information?
- Are ppl, with specific information, willing to 'give away' their information and knowledge?

Alex Wulms and I maintain the MSX hardware list, currently on e.g. faq.msxnet.org. Alex already made a prototype of a database version of it. But it is still not completely fine tuned, although it fully works. Don't know what exact idea is atm tho...

I talked a bit about the hardware database with Manuel in the past, and have some nice ideas about what we can do with it on the MRC. However, I'm very low on spare time at the moment, so don't expect some new features based on this datbaase in the very near future. Ideas are always welcome, the implementation of them might take some time though.

I've heard GuyveR800 is working on such a database for MSX Banzai!.
