Well, the megapolls are there to have some good fun on the MRC forums. This way we want to show the MRC forums are there to have fun too, not every discussion here has to be as serious (or heated ) as a lot of them tend to be. By voting and nominating in the forums you can also add funny comments, see what other people are voting etc. etc. etc. It's also a lousy attempt at luring people into registering an account and/or to start posting messages on our forums in this and other areas (and damn, it even works every now and then ).

It's peanuts to code an automated mega-polling system, but really: it isn't half as funny .

If it is your goal to have a funny pollsystem then you've succeeded. On the other hand it is so [instert english word for amateuristish] while te rest of the site is pretty professional. I think it has added value to improve this system. An automized system prevents user mistakes (wrong points) and makes that the operators don't have to calculate all the points by hand. Also its easier and less difficult for the user to take part to a poll so that may result in more opinions.

Take this pole as an example, it is not much work to make a clickable thumbnail of each computer and let the user select his 'winners'.

Firstly, I critisized the pollsystem, not the subject. Secondly, I try to make a positive contribution by motivatng my comments and propose improvements. Please don't make that yelling 'this poll sux', I hope I made myself a bit more clear by explaining this in this posting.
