Why is so difficult to buy MSX products from Ademir?

It took me 1 YEAR to receive the Mini slot-expansor that I paid the 30th of July 2003...

I hope that Ademir can speed up his service...

That's a big shame, I'm sure that Sunrise does it much better

Even far in the past, services were bad (not one of them, no, all of them)... And yes, Sunrise contributed to that, too. Another example is/was Hans Oranje which took about a year to adapt a MSX2 to 2+ w/ 256 kB RAM...

Hope those things are gone now, anyway...

You continue as regards your personal bad expirience.
As regards hardware it has never occured if it was produced.
Besides hardware from us you can buy at a fair and unless you want
(rembourse)it yourself you donot have to pay in advance.
I also have understood that in Brazil more people waited for ordered stuff.
Since he had no stock of ide anymore , brazilian people start to buy from us via Paulo Maluf

As far as I know Ademir has played a key role in the brazilian MSX scene; I have an old brazilian "MSX-AMIGA CPU" magazine from the early nineties and some of the products that are in http://www.msxprojetos.com.br/ already appeared in that magazine (as ACVS Eletrônica Ltda.).

He sells EXCELLENT MSX hard and at a reasonable price but if his service is so slow I understand the apprehension of MSXers to buy things from him.

I'm sure that a better/faster service=more sales.

Hold on! I do not held personal grudges or anything towards you or Sunrise as a whole, but I've indeed had a couple of run-ins ... I must say, I had bad luck or something ... But anyway, it often happened that I had to wait for months or so. Now that I don't have any kind of problem anymore, I'm relieved .

Ah, I recall something! One day, I got myself an IDE interface from a friend of mine. It was a new one (originally in Moonsound casing), but he used the casing for his memory extension. So I got a bare PCB. Then, I blew my own interface, and right after that, the new one (corrupt HDD, or corrupt NMS8255 at that time, I guess :|). So I had to send my IDEs in for repair. So I did, and two weeks later I got them anew! The bare PCB was fitted with a nice casing, even w/ label! So that was a real positive experience

And what shall I say... That same friend of mine ordered a 6 slotexpander at Hans Oranje's. That was about 2 years ago on some HCC event (HCC dagen 2K2, I guess). He's paid half of the price already, but now it's still quiet around Hans' ...
Last time I saw him was with Bussum 2K3.

Once I saw a Mini Slot Expansor (first version; green PCB without leds) at eBay with a starting bid of 35 USD (more or less the price of buying it new) and I thought "why to buy it second hand when I can buy it new for the same price?".

Now I know the answer... but buying second hand Ademir products doesn't help him to make money...

If you own the old version it is basically the same as the new one. I think that Ademir's mini slot expander is the best choice; as far as I know Padial and Sunrise slot expanders need a external PSU.

I use one of Ademir's slot expander, I have no problems with it! I use a 256k MegaRAM, SCC, FMpac, and sunrise CF-IDE! They all work well together, the version I have has the LED's. I put some rubber feet on the bottom to offer extra support.

The LED's produce an impressive display when I am loading a ROM image into the MegaRAM. The whole thing works very well on MSX. A nicely designed piece of electromics

Well, Padial's slot expander is working just fine without AT PSU, but in case if you want to offload the power consumption from the MSX PSU, you can switch some jumpers and use AT PSU.

This is very nice if used with many devices and a computer with weak PSU, like A1WSX.

Also Padial's slot expander is much more advanced, it supports DMA mode and if you add the Z80 board, it effectively becomes a barebone MSX2 system.

Brazilian slot expander is great because it's so tiny. But it doesn't work as well as Padial's. For instance SCC in subslot 2-4 is not detected, if subslot 1 has a memory mapper.

The funny thing about Ademir, is that he got the money from many brazilian MSXers (300 US$ per head), including Ginseng, but it doesn't look like he can produce CIEL3++. I think they will exterminate him one day
