MSXView is a great tool indeed! The only thing that's missing is the ability to just double click on a ge5 file (or any other images) to view it, now you have to run that program and open the picture manually.

| Just serving PNG/JPG/GIF would also put less load on the CPU

Well, to make the screenies look nicer, you can do this. Ah well, that'll put too much load on the CPU |

I guess it would be better to put 'raw' images online, without any filters used on them. Ah well, this is getting pretty off-topic
It would be cool to see a new RPG on MSX, but I think it would be a good idea to produce different 'chapters' as creating content for an RPG can take quite a while. Having a really dedicated gfx artist would help though |

some of my older work
None of them were used for released products...
* the first picture i drew as a logo for my first ASM scroll routine, which works but was never released due to no music, too basic/simple etc.
* The ring-thingie is also drew no too long ago for a scrolldemo which didn't make the contest due to exit coder :-)
* The third and fourth ones were made for Music Maniac 3 which was never released (it was supposed to be a musicdisk back in good ol 1999)
* The last one also pretty recent, i drew it for a dR. mario clone I was trying to make in ASM. I had some code but then I quit ASM again (I couldn't quite figure the stacking of the pills routine out so I bailed).
So hmm, lemme know what you think bout them GFX
some RPG GFX for show off are in the pipeline and soon coming you're way...
>>Out :-)

What a shame... This is GREAT for the MRC Logo & Scroll challenge, which as far as I know is still running!
Please don't be ashamed of not being the world's best coder...

If you want some help with that, visit #msxdev @ Rizon IRC, or email me. I'd be happy to talk things over with you and provide some ideas and insight

Be happy, mighty.m... You can at least draw nicely. I can neither draw nor code (however, the latter's being improved as we speak). And I can puke some NBASIC crap ...
Now all I do is being a MRC moderator/webmaster...
Ah well, can't have it all, I guess |

Well, I still have a quite extended RPG game scenario which I wrote somewhere in 1996 for our Sargon RPG 'The Curse of Kaijruu', which was never finished, partially because the scope of the game was too extended. At the time, Pumpkin Adventure 3 had just been released and we decided to try and compete with this game, so everything had to be better: the length of the game, the engine, the graphics, etc.
Far too ambitious, but the scenario is still there, as are many MoonSound compositions made by DemonSeed and YUM. As it looks like this material will never be used in a real RPG, we made other plans with it, but if there's anyone out there planning to make an RPG and in need of a good scenario and background music... Let me know!
Check www.samanet.tk , Sargon/MSX section, Product Info part, 'The Curse of Kaijruu' for a short summary of the scenario |

Oh and Mighty.M: Your graphics look really cool indeed!
Nice to see there's still so much MSX talent hanging out on these forums. Would be nice to see people cooperating in making a new MSX game!

Probably something that is always there, but from time to time suddenly pops out |

Bring it on !

This is some stuff I coocked up yesterday. Not tile based, but just to show off what is possible on a standard MSX2. A flowery patch of grass, a pathway and the sea...
Feedback appreciated :-)

Looks good, but somehow the quality of the picture seems to be lower than that of the pictures you posted before . Looks somewhat pixelated, or is it just me? Is the picture somewhat enlarged? |

it's a screenshot from nlmsx... i could resize it for ya.... it's just that it's not a full screen drawing and is too small too show off that way. But it was not enlarged, the others ones were downsized... and I think the quality is ok, but it looks better on the MSX ofcourse...

I would like to see what it looks like when you resize it the way you resized your earlier pics . Somehow I don't 'feel' that a real MSX screen looks pixelated, maybe it's just because a PC monitor is much sharper |
