Referring to Pumpkin Adventure III? Lost World? Realms of Adventure?

Ah well, the Moonlight Saga gameplay is quite cool, but the spriteflickering is a bit, well... frustrating sometimes :|

I thought PA3 had scrolling ? Doesn't it ?

Haven't played Moonlight Saga so I can't tell. But I do remember some flickering also in Golvellius II and Super Cook. I guess it could be worked around with some proper level design.

PA3 doesn't scroll, no

Moonlight Saga utilizes a full-screen smooth scroll. Vital information (Life gauge, Wisp's life gauge) is displayed through sprites. Furthermore, there's no real 'framework' whatsoever. That is, there's only the playfield, and nothing more (no fance borders or suchlike).

They could have created something at the top/bottom using a screensplit...

Sonic_aka_T: I think Metal Gear 2 is coded worse than SD-Snatcher... SD-Snatcher is quite playable all throughout the game, while MG2 often suffers from enourmous slowdowns... If I turn on 7MHz, the game really becomes twice as fast (and although it messes up the music I really do so on occasion just because it's much more playable).
