Probably, this question should be in the Emulation forum, but I'm not here admin or mod ;-)
Turbo-R support in blueMSX will come before the end of this year : first official version with Turbo-R support should be released in november 2004 ; before that, a new version with more accuracy will be soon released.

Can you please add proper Russian models (YIS503IIR, YIS503IIIR and YIS805R3/128) support?
I can help testing |

I think we'll get partial support for these Yamaha models. The hard part which will not be supported (yet) is the network support. I guess this is the most interesting part though. The fdc in these machines seems to be the standard national fdc even if it is sold by another manufacturer. If you have details on this I'd be happy to know.
An unrelated question: If you know russian or know someone that wants to translate blueMSX I'd be happy to know. Since were not using unicode I'm not sure how russian characters can be supported but the japanese and corean translations use some standard character encoding and I'd think something similar exist for the cryllic character set as well.

What's wrong with using the real thing until BlueMSX comes with turboR support? |

Well, Windows code page 1251 is Russian, so there is no problems supporting russian in resource block. I'm fluent in Russian and will look into BlueMSX translation. I prefer English interface for myself, but I do know a lot of people who like to use native menus etc.
Is it just the menus, or the full help file and support documents as well?
I'm currently involved in opposite process, Russian-to-English translation of support documents for brand new TURBO 2+ motherboards (semi-professional CP/M computer with full hardware compatibility with Speccy 128K and TRDOS from Moscow). It's more then 100 pages, so it'll take a lot of time to finish up everything |

RuMSX is evil! It does support russian Yamaha mode, but it's a killer! Instead of remapping JCUKEN keyboard mapping to QWERTY, Lex left it as is!
I need a comfy Yamaha emulator, which:
A) remaps keyboard to QWERTY!!!!! (unlike RuMSX)
B) supports character table from original Yamaha (modified KOI8-R)
C) supports real 80 character wide text mode! (unlike fMSX)
BlueMSX and OpenMSX doesn't have Yamaha YIS modes at all... I'm going to cry now!
Hahahaha! But soon I'll get a real Yamaha YIS-805!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is better then sex! Better then drugs! And much better then rock'n'roll!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Except for the network card, it's easy to create a proper hardwareconfig.xml file for openMSX to emulate those two Russian machines. We never included the configurations, because of the lacking network card support. You can even easily make a config yourself, if you take the trouble of studying the format a bit. (Without network card, of course...)
If I have time, I'll try to convert it to the new openMSX 0.5.0 format... (it's half converted, so I have to rewrite it ) |

heh, in fact there are TWO different networks cards - one found in YIS503IIR (MSX1)
and another in YIS503IIIR and YIS805R3/128 (both MSX2)...
As for emulation - imagine you disconnected the network card with screwdriver.
All you need now is to place roms correctly (CP/M rom in YIS503, PAINTER and DISK roms in YIS805), remap the keyboard (go to MSX Assembly Page and use the keyboard table I created) and here you go !
