And errr oh yes,how do you know which theme is what? I have this plug in for winamp, and do you just simply count from the first theme in an SCC? For instance Quarth has many tracks, but it never shows any names of anything, same would go for snatcher...many tracks but errrr...what is which and????

Yeah, Snout was an elephant in the BCF demo's .
About demoscene music: Powerrun (by Powerrun from Impact) is kinda cool . And the Impact Housedisk had some cool tunes, Zooi 2, 3 and 4 were pretty cool.
For SCC tunes it's best to use the KSS player (Konami Sound System, NOT the KSS from the Winamp plugin). I sent it to your hotmail address.
By the way, I like the selection of Konami music you mentioned. About finding out the names, for Quarth I wouldn't know how but for example Space Manbow has a soundtrack CD which has the names of the tunes on it (Dust Dust Dust, etc.).

EHHH okay that is a bit over my head ^_^ Hahah also I think I have a remix of metal gear by comcon...anyone familiar with it? So,how can I run those Impact demos on say, ehhh blue msx? Or an easier way to conveert it to wave? Can you "insert" them in the designated a drive in Blue msx? I found some demos but they weren't recognised as being disk image files
And hey, thanx a lot for the player will check it out right away ! I use deliplayer for the most exotic formats (oh how it supports modfiles wonderfully),but for spectrums or proper atari ST music that is not YM you need other players again....the horror hahaha ! one universal player..one day
hehehe

Poke, the email I sent failed to deliver... says the message was too big (I guess it was ). Anyways you can download them from my web server, I sent a mail with the url. thecman at hotmail dot com is the right address, right?
About the impact disks... Well I can't really tell from here. If they are disk images you should just be able to use them (though I don't know how good BlueMSX'es MSX-Music/Audio emulation is?), if they are not - well, I can't smell what they are then .

AWM is not from Konami!
Though it makes a neat combination with the Treasure of Usas/Juba Ruins theme of Konami, as can be heard in IOD's Metal Limit |

You have probably downloaded demos here on MRC. They are generally .lzh archives that you can decompress with WinRar for example.
After the decompressing, you get .dsk file(s) or another files :
- the dsk files can be runned without any problem in blueMSX
- if you have different files (not dsk files), then you must create a dsk file by using a special tool, like Disk Manager (that you can find on the RuMSX site) that works perfectly under Win98 ; under WinXP, this tool doesn't work perfectly, but you can solve the problem by giving the Archive attribute to each file that you put on the disk image
- some demos require to rename a file as "AUTOEXEC.BAS" to get an automatic running in the emulator (it's the case of the great Sphere demo ...)
- some demos requires MSX-DOS1 files and an autoexec.bat
- some demos require MSX-DOS2 formatting + files and an autoexec.bat
- some demos require MSX-DOS2 formatting and an autoexec.bas
Maybe too complicate ? Send me an email with a list of the demos that interest you and I'll send you the dsk files !

Ah, poke, I still need to send you the Powerrun theme, I'd say it's a must for a scene music show . |

I wondered if there are music compo's actually on the msx.. A lot of demo stuff seems to be from before 2000, didn't hear (m)any tunes after.
Sure someone must have started some electro using FM PAC or SCC?

Not much, Soepfiskje 2nd edition was released not long ago but it's for Moonsound, and I think most new music is created for the Moonsound. And a lot of the musicdisk activity was when the amateur scene for MSX started to decline a bit, people complained at that time there were too many musicdisks and too few 'real' new products (although I wouldn't mind to see more musicdisks nowadays).
In Japan though, that guy DRMSX (I'm sure you've seen some msx.org news items about it, and if not you can easily find them) has made some pretty amazing tunes using PSG+FMPAC+SCC.
~Grauw
p.s. do those Impact tunes include Powerrun? ^_^
