One of the articles in this year's edition of MSX Magazine will be about the MSX BIOS. Unfortunately, our information appears not to be complete, and we are wondering if someone would be willing to provide us the missing pieces of information.
All MSX machines have some information regarding their type of BASIC (Japanese/international) and their keyboard etc. stored at #2B and #2C in the main rom. The team behind MSX Magazine would be interested to know what the actual value of these locations is on the more 'exotic' (from a Japanese viewpoint, that is) machines.
If some owner of a Brazilian, Argentian, Russian, Arabic or Korean machine is reading this, we would like to ask you to execute the following commands on your machine, and post the results in this thread.
PRINT PEEK(&H2B)
PRINT PEEK(&H2C)
Many thanks in advance,
Bernard Lamers and Sander Zuidema representing the MSX Magazine staff.

My guess is that most of these machines are correctly emulated through OpenMSX. Would it be possible to get the results that way?
Regards,

tfh, it's actually not a matter of emulation, but just looking at the BIOS ROM of the machines you're interested in. If one has a real machine or its BIOS, it's easy to check out those bytes.
(If one emulates the machine, one has to have the BIOS as well, and of course that also works |
