Flyguille: Glad to see you managed to figure it out. I would never have thought about the flatcable being the cause of this. Clever thinking, Sunrise! 
Sunrise: I was only kidding a bit about the pre-formatted harddisk. The thought of giving people the option to buy pre-formatted CF cards does come to mind now, though  Otoh, you have a lot of work on your hands as it is already, right? |

Snout, I know, but that was because Jon killed me once when I came up with a cable of 75 cm and that was even before I could start my MSX
And for the diskless people, you need ofcourse in most occasions more memory first

well, also the formatting disk problem was solved
i thinks using the convination dos 1.10 + IDE presence, makes that formatting disks gets write error after a while. Now i under dos 2.20 with the same disks i formated it correctly without problems.

now, laks the problem... why if i disconnect my FDD unit, the IDE doesn't start/boot or shows something.... no one signal of existence.
