Cool, I'll get this card + keyboard adapter as soon as I can.

Well, he actually sells whole modular systems that fit neatly in a PC cabinet. You can build a whole MSX system with his products! Too bad he hasn't made an MSX Turbo-E though... |

Well, I already have a lot of Padial hardware:
- 512K ASCII 8/16 mapper flash cart
- Evolution4 slot expander
- 4M memory mapper
I don't think Z380 processor card makes a lot of sence, since I know about only two users and one useless proof of concept project for it. And it comes with steep price tag. Z80 card is interesting due to 3.5/7/14 speed switch, but I just prefer to use Evolution4 with expansions to rebuild Panasonic WSX in a nice aluminum ATX case. The only problem with ATX is that I have to build ATX control circuitry. AT is easier, but it's too ghetto... Almost as ghetto as using Commodore RGB monitors.
The opportunities are very good with such mod:
1) PC keyboard
2) PC optical mouse with PIC circuit from Legacy and J.P. Groeber
3) IBM P76 professional CRT monitor via XRGB2+ with thick shielded RGB cable made from former PC VGA cord
4) SunRise IDE controller with Internal IDE HDD (10GB from Xbox - low noice, low heat) and IDE CD-ROM or DVD-ROM
5) All WSX controls nicely reproduced on a front pannel
6) High quality 3.5" PC floppy drive (or even two)
7) Potentially FPGA connected to MSX address, control and data buses for all kinds of neat tricks (synthetic supercharged Moonblaster anyone?)
I got a semi-ruined WSX from Ronnie due to bad packaging, I looks bad, but still works, so it's a perfect candidate for a motherboard donor.
I also can put sockets for all the ROM chips and may be eventually work on improved bios for WSX (like start Z80B at 1.5x if some key is pressed at start time, support faster seek timing for modern floppy drives, add native cyrilic support like it's available on YIS503R-III and YIS-805R and so on).

If you have some extra cash, try making a custom keyboard for it... Find a PC keyboard that more or less has the keys where you'd want them, (pre-windoze perhaps) and have the keys reprinted with the appropriate MSX markings... You could even rewire some of the keys if you could find some of those old PC keyboards made on a circuit board...

Well, the rewire part is assuming Padial's interface can't already assign some of the keys, which I guess it should be able to...

Well, you can either remember correspondence of keys (I think this is what I'll do), or add labels like "Graph" to keyboard as shown on pictures on Leonardo's site:

hello my friend,
as soon as I can, I'll send you photos of my emsx++ system.
14 mhz now!
(z80 3.57..14mhz)+(4mb)+(VDP 9958)+(Sound card: psg+scc+fmpac)+(FDC controller with parallel bidirectional port)+(IDE)+(RTC,Keyboard & 2 joy ports)

14 MHz is actually damn cool Where did you get 9958 chip? Desoldered from one of your MSX2+? Or found someone selling just chips? |

BTW: can you ask Leonardo what is the difference between Evolution4 V1 and V2? I have V1 and want to know what do I miss |

>Where did you get 9958 chip? Desoldered from one of your MSX2+? Or found >someone selling just chips?
don´t worry about 9958, if you want to order a EMSX system, Leonardo gets one.
Evolution V1 needs a GSB cart, (expansor+GSB)
Evolution has the GSB included in the expansor, no need a GSB cart
System works perfect, it's a real powerful modular MSX.
minium system will be: Z80 + EV4 (GSB) + V3858 + PCKeyboard
you can see: http://lpadial.aamsx.org/page5.HTM
with sound (add the sound card):
with software for configure FMPAC/SCC and the two 512 kb flashes
you can see documentation(spanish/english) and dowload software from URL:
http://lpadial.aamsx.org/pages.HTM
You can use your 4mb ram card using z80 working 14mhz.
