Just a thought, seen Vincent van Dam porting ZX psg tunes to Msx, will it be interesting porting opl2 (adlib) tunes from pc to msx opl1 (msx-audio) ??

There are just a few differences between opl2 and opl1 so technical it can be done. First test results on sound routines of an emulator are better than expexted. Timing is difficult and some instruments sound different.

Like to hear your reaction...

Hmmm, the only real problem for me would be that I've never heard an 'Adlib' tune worth listening to...

???? well,... hehe,... you've got me here.... ????
(MSX is Great but i look further than that )

But no kidding,.... most known dos (abandonware) game soundtracks are soundblaster compatible and the FM part is opl2 compatible,... so if i name :
Dune, Dune II, Blackthorne, Doom, Lands of lore, Legend of Kyrandia,
Command keen, Monkey island, Duke nukem, etc etc

Do i have to say more ,... I just want to say ..... it is possible...

(that's it for now,... wishing you people a happy newyear !! see ya 2005 !! )

A player for opl4 will be less work.

Dune II was the reason i started to play games on PC.

Probably better sound quality too, but there's got to be a challenge

Isn't Dune II music actually MIDI wich you can play on OPL2 if you want? In this case MoonSound or MT-32 connected to MIDI i/o makes more sence

As of Adlib toons, there are some incredibly cool toons made by PC oldschool composers that come with two Adlib trackers. I don't remember the name of software or anything like this, just that one is from France and another from Russia
