Fryslan once stretched from the north of Denmark (via a part of Germany, Holland (limited to coastline provinces) and belgium) to Bretange in France.
The entire coastline was a great Fryslan. We were all pagans and quite offensive when other nations tried to invade/conquer us.
Eventually i shrunk to the province of today.
Even today you can find people outside Fryslan who still speak Frisian. Some parts of nothern Germany and some parts of Denmark.
It really is no coincidence that you certain words have the same meaning in our languages. Especially english looks like Frysk today (only when words our pronounced).
hmmm
