It's strange there seem some people out there haveing interst in the do it yourself stuff. Which means they think they can draw at least. Since that's all needed for these tools to make something good. However when it comes to to a gfx artist for some project it turns silence.

That's because many ppl aren't gfx artists, and they can't overview the scope of the gfx of a game Ofcourse all ppl want to draw a game, the start is the easiest part .. now... to FINISH a game .. that's something else..

It's a pity that some game-making utilities were not ported to MSX, such as the 3D Game Construction Kit (interesting stuff!), the 3D Game Maker (for Filmation-1 style games) or the 2D Game Maker (really strange one).

And what I would like to find is the conversational adventures makers, such as PAW (Professional Adventure Writer) and the DAAD (Disenador de Aventuras A.D., I guess). These two were ported to MSX and used a lot in Spain. Anyone has got them? I'd like to put my hand on them!

As you might know, there are a few shooter editors from ASCII too:

-Yoshida Kensetsu --> Super Zelixer, Twinkle Star (the one I made G3L with)
-Yoshida Konzern --> Lübeck

There's a previous version to Yoshida Kensetsu, but it was the first shooter editor they made and the quality is not that good. The best one is Yoshida Konzern, with no doubt.

And ofcourse there was also MSX Club Belgie/Nederland's G.A.M.E., "Game And Music Editor". If I remember correctly, one could make MSX1 games with this tool, but programming still had to be done to -some- extent.

Never used it though. I did use GameBuilder and I think I can confidently say you can't make any great games with them (judging from the amount of positive feedback I received on games like The ATP and The Vampires and She Vampires ).
