We tried to spot any adres/name.., but in the bag we found a noteblock with mysterious Marsian writings. Was it a publicity-stunt from Steven Spielberg, to promote his 'The Eve of the War'? Was there an intruder, who, like a Snatcher, looked human but certainly wasn't? Who knows ..

Nah, I don’t agree. I’d just as much have a fair. Or rather, actually, as a devcon can be kept any time, while a fair is only twice or thrice (now once ) a year.

Also, there are many people who are on fairs but not on devcon. If you want to keep MSX to the select group @ devcon, then sure, but I think it’s a good idea to get a replacement of Tilburg for the more general public.

Because I think only one fair a year will not be good for the ‘activity’ of a number of MSX people who already have little contact with other MSX-ers (far from everyone is active online @ mrc you know...). It’s also a bit contrary to the ‘there is a revival going on’ sounds that you hear now and then.

Simply said, not organising a replacement for Tilburg would be bad for the Dutch MSX community. So yeah, I care.

Ofcourse it's not a real replacement for a fair, but I got the impression from quite some ppl that they rather spend a long day on devcon, than a few hours on a fair. Prolly because fairs are partly socialising as well, not just seeing new stuff. Aaaaanyway..

Let's say.. devcon is another format. The format is: cafe, developers, long day, free rent with consumptions.. that's not really the format of a fair. I think the format itself works quite well, it's not a replacement for the fair-format tho. I think it's best to have 2 fairs in a year (they must be well-organised tho), and devcon-meetings between them.

Of course neither one is a replacement for the other. By the way, I don’t see how a fair is ‘socialising’ but a devcon is not?

I like both equally much.

I can't remeber a black bag and my black coat never left my car... maybe SMD forgot something? If he doesn't see this post I'll ask him tuesday.
